These are some helpful programs, resources, and... other things that I recommend for webmastering and even daily computer needs (and wants)!
HostsFreewebs
I've played around with Freewebs a little, and it's alright. Although, I would recommend using some other free host. There are many other better free hosts out there.
EHQ
Great hosting right in our Pokémon fansite community! A very nice FREE host. Although, they will not accept a site unless it's already created on another host.
Ho-oh's Fire
Even though their site is still waiting to finish, they offer free hosting to anyone in need. They will accept any sites with a decent amount of pages.
Piplup Princess
Yep! Another Pokémon fansite nice enough to offer free hosting! She offers to only the needy, or very experienced webmasters in need of a host.
Other hosts
I don't know much about other hosts, since I'm hosted on my brother's server. Explore on your own and find the host with the right features for you!
Image Hosts

Easy to use, and new/updated features added practically every week! xD I use this the most. You make an account and, unlike Imageshack, you won't ever loose the codes, because they're saved right there! Though, you can go over the limit. I haven't ever gone over, so I'm not sure how much is over the limit. But that's because I clean out my account daily and have two accounts.
Imageshack
Pretty much the same as Photobucket, but slower and more ad filled. I recommend this for images that you only need to use the code once, like on a forum or something.
Pokémon Images

This site has it all! As well as Pokémon images they have other anime images, tutorials, and neopets! WOO! xDD
PE2K
Pokémon Elite 2000 has all the official sprites, sugimori, and anime images you'll need!
Arkeis
The first Pokémon fansite I was introduced to... this site has the awesome Pokémon Factory full of free images!
News Management
Cute News
A pretty good program, though you need ftp to install it. It is also very confusing to install. If you find yourself confused while installing, click here.
Fusion News
I've never tried this, but I keep it in mind in case Cutenews dies on me someday. Apparently, this is a very good news managment system, and you don't need ftp! I suggest this if your host doesn't have ftp or you can't install it for some reason.
Art/ Graphics Programs
Gimp
Gimp is a free program similar to Photoshop. True, it's not as good as Photoshop, but it does a good job.
Photoshop
Even if you can't buy Photoshop, you can still get the free trial! It's a real fun 30 days.... Photoshop has great features with thousands of image editing and creating options!
Browsers
Mozilla Firefox
My personal favorite browser. Safer, faster, and easier to use than IE.
Opera
Ah, Opera. My second favorite browser. If I was more used to it, and Javascript would work on it on my computer, it would be my favorite browser of all. It includes awesome features including very easy and detailed customization, allowing you to make it much more personal than you can in Firefox or IE.
Fonts
Da Font
Da Font is a great site for downloading great fonts. (Great! :D) The default fonts on your computer probably aren't the best for nice banners.
Brushes
DeviantArt A great place to find Photoshop AND Gimp brushes. Just search "[insert program name here] brushes" in the searchbar.
Brusheezy A great Photoshop resource with more than just brushes! (Plus, their motto owns, "Stupid name. Cool brushes!" xD) AntiVirus Software
AdAware A pretty good spyware removal program for free. Spyware Doctor Awesome. Just, awesome. Works much better than AdAware, though it costs money.
