Recolor Tutorial
Recoloring is exactly what the title says: recoloring! This is a very simple type of spriting, although it was never one of my favorites.
The first thing you have to do is pick a Pokemon. Simple. Now, you have to make a palette with all of the original colors of that pokémon:
Now is the time to start thinking about your colors. Pick a color for your base color. It can be any color, as long as it's not eye burning. O.O;; Now, make a palette using that base color; going brighter from the base, then darker from the base. Confused? Take a look at the diagram below:
Using your newly made palette, recolor the sprite shade by shade.
Now you can marvel your beauti- wait, look at that orange! Well, let's change that! You can choose a new color, or you can simply change it to the color of the rest of the sprite.
