Individual Values
Guide by ShadowDarkraiIVs, introduced in Generation 3 (they existed before, but were a bit different) are values given to each Pokémon's stat when the Pokémon is created. IVs range from 0 to 31, with 31 being the best possible. They are hidden values and cannot be changed by any means.
IVs work like this: A Pokémon with an Attack IV of 20 at level 100 will have an Attack stat of 20 more than if the Pokémon had an Attack IV of 0. It’s pretty simple: the better the stat’s IV, the better that stat will be.
The move Hidden Power’s type and power is determined by the Pokémon’s IVs, and IVs are also passed on through breeding (but that is a whole guide in itself and will not be discussed here).
